Nearly half of childcare services say they could be forced to withdraw core state funding and increase fees by up to 40% – with one slamming the Government for spending millions “propping up RTÉ” while allowing childcare to be “destroyed”.
Representatives representing 80% of childcare providers have issued a joint statement sounding the alarm to the government and parents across Ireland: by September, the cost of childcare that parents need to pay could rise by up to 40%.
