The head of the country signed a decree providing for this last week. It is proposed that D. Beinoravičius be appointed as a member of VTEK from November 20 this year. The lawyer will replace the outgoing Evelina Matulaitienė, who, according to the president, was appointed as a member of VTEK in November 2019.
The final decision on the submitted candidates will be made by Congress.
D. Beinoravičius is a professor at Mykolas Romeris University and currently serves as a member of the Light Rail Board.
ELTA reminds that VTEK consists of five members. One candidate for the committee member is proposed by the President, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Prime Minister, the Lithuanian Bar Association and the National Council of NGOs. The composition of VTEK is approved by the Parliament for a five-year term.
