The funeral of former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Sadiba Koulibaly, shocked his hometown of Magaly Faraba yesterday, Friday 28 June 2024. Angry young men removed the body from the soldiers. Guineematin.com learned through the team sent to the scene that this attitude of the young men angered the elders of the village.
Sitan Mamadi Koulibaly, the representative of the Mandiana prefecture in Conakry, asked for the body of the former charge d’affaires of the Guinean Embassy in Cuba. He expressed regret for the discontent among young people in the Magali Faraba region.

“I told the chief of staff of the armed forces to give me the body of my grandson. I boasted in Conakry that there would be no chaos here in Faraba. I now understand that the sons of Faraba who live in Conakry love Sadibah more than the people there. I saw young people performing in the theater, some even took off their clothes. We young people from Conakry bought a cow to sacrifice for Sadibah. This is family affection. You don’t love Sadibah. The authorities gave me the body to respect me, but the young people showed that I am good for nothing,” he denounced.
Nankoura Moussa Coulibaly, one of the wise men, praised Sitan Mamadi Coulibaly’s efforts. He then expressed his indignation at the anger of the young people.
“We bless Sitan Mamadi Coulibaly for everything he did to ensure that Sadiba’s body was there. I have been lying in my house because I was ashamed. The young people touched our dignity. The young people humiliated the elders in the village. Since Sadiba stopped breathing, Mamadi used all means to get the body over. It is an honor and pride for us to receive the remains of our son. Otherwise, the transitional authorities could have buried Sadiba Coulibaly wherever they wanted. All Magalifaraba people are proud of Sitan Mamadi. We have seen the body of our son and now we can sleep,” he said.
Mamoudou Coulibaly apologized to the celebrities on behalf of the youth.
“We ask for forgiveness from the wise. When you are very angry, you have more control over yourself. We also ask for forgiveness from my uncle Mamadi and the foreigners who came to the ceremony. On behalf of the Magali Faraba Youth Office, we ask you again to forgive us,” he said.
