Myanmar armed group says it has seized regional military headquarters

The Myanmar military has 14 regional commands across the country, from the Himalayan foothills in the north to the vast southern delta region bordering the Indian Ocean.

Soldiers at at least 10 of these locations are currently fighting either existing ethnic armed groups or the newly formed “People’s Defense Forces.” The struggle with the military since the 2021 coup.
