The Chuncheon District Court Criminal Division 2 (Judge Kim Taek-sung) announced on the 16th that A (54 years old), who was indicted for violating the Narcotics Control Act, the Domestic Violence Punishment Act, and the Special Threat Crime, was sentenced to two years in prison.

In addition, he was ordered to complete a 40-hour drug rehabilitation education program and a 40-hour domestic violence treatment program.

Mr. A is accused of threatening his son, Mr. C, who came out of his room with a weapon after hearing an argument with his wife, Mr. C, at their home in Chuncheon City at around 7:50 a.m. on February 5.

He committed the crime under suspicion that B and C were having an affair, and was found taking drugs in the car six hours before the crime.

In addition, after receiving the court’s interim measure of “prohibiting contact with family members” the next day, Mr. A still sent 20 text messages to Mr. B.

The court ruled that “there were extenuating circumstances, such as the victim’s request for leniency, but the charges were very serious, including drug use, suspicion of the relationship between his wife and children, and threats with weapons.”

He then gave his reasons for sentencing, saying “given his past experience with violent crimes, he deserves a severe punishment.”
