Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Mohamed Mustafa spoke today Monday by phone with his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Rangel to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing war of extermination against the people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Mustafa stressed the importance of Portugal’s recognition of the State of Palestine, given its importance among European countries, as recently recognized by Spain, Norway, Ireland and Slovenia, and he appreciated the vote to recognize the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations General Assembly, the relief assistance provided to the people of the Gaza Strip, and the continued support of UNRWA.
The Portuguese Foreign Minister expressed the continued partnership with Palestine and support for the Palestinian people through the European Union, building institutions, addressing the difficult economic and financial situation that Palestine is going through, and supporting the efforts and work plans of the Palestinian Government.
