Musicians, after the death of Niku Kovacs: “How immortal is the legacy you left us”

Musicians Mircea Baniciu, Nelu Dumitrescu, Alin Dincă, Tudor Chirilă, Maria Gheorghiu Regret Great artist Niku Kovacs diesan “inspiration” and “dear friend,” thanked him for his legacy.

Colleague and former member of the band Phoenix Mircea Baniciu wrote on Facebook: “Good luck to Nicu Covaci! Deeply sorry!”.

“Have a safe trip, Nicu! Thank you for everything! Love and friendship are left behind! We love you to heaven and back! Let it be reborn!”, is the message of Alin Dincă, leader of the cavalry band.

A bow to Nicu Kovacs and drummer Neiro Dumitrescu: “Bon voyage, Nicu Kovacs! You were and continue to be a source of inspiration, a great artist and a dear friend!”.

Tudor Chirilă commemorated this sad moment with the lyrics of his iconic song “Fie sa renasca”:

Maria Gheorghiu, folk singer: “This time it’s true… God rest in peace, Nicu… How difficult it is for us to speak of you in the past tense. Yet in all the legacy you left us, how much immortality there is… For all you have been, for all you are, for all you will leave in the eternal moment, we thank you deeply…”.

Nicu Covaci, the leader of the band Phoenix, died on Friday at the age of 77. He underwent brain surgery at the Timisoara County Hospital this spring after tests revealed that he had a brain tumor.
