KUWAIT CITY, August 6: Kuwait Municipality Director-General Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous has issued an administrative decision to stop the payment of shift allowances, shift bonuses and meal allowances to 479 inspectors, engineers and managers of the municipality; this has led to several affected persons filing petitions against the decision.
The source said that about 150 affected employees plan to submit a joint petition against the decision; stressing that they are entitled to the above benefits according to relevant documents, especially the inspectors of the supervision and engineering departments. The source pointed out that due to the decision, some employees’ financial benefits will be deducted by about 200 Kuwaiti dinars; this shows that this will affect the working mechanism, as there have been many transfer requests and some departments are unwilling to work.
