MEMPHIS, Tenn. (LPL) – Shelby and Memphis County Schools have reached an agreement with school resource officers to avoid a strike.
The district agreed to raise starting pay to $25 an hour.
While a request for a pay raise for school resource officers has been submitted, Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins said more time is needed to consider other requested items because 64 officers are needed to fill those positions.
Authorities are still negotiating with officials on other issues.
