MP Moz Ben Youssef arrested
Moez Ben Youssef, deputy of the People’s Congress (ARP) for the Sousse constituency, was arrested on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Business News has learned.
According to available information, the persons concerned were raided at the home of Kalâa Kebira earlier that evening.
Moz Ben Youssef was reportedly arrested for insulting a public official, in this case a police officer, as well as insulting the President of the Republic, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Justice.
Nonetheless, elected officials still enjoy parliamentary immunity. However, a request to lift immunity is unlikely in Moz Ben Youssef’s case.
