After more than 48 hours, the results of the Guinean single baccalaureate exam for 2024 are out. In Kankan, the young Moussa Sacko, a 19-year-old student of Alpha Yaya Diallo High School, won fourth place in the French-Arab Republic of Experimental Sciences. The man who completed his entire studies at the French-Arab school said that he did not want to become an imam, but wanted to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a doctor. The winner said this in an interview with a Guineematin.com reporter stationed in the county.
Moussa Sacko was born in Seinko, Beira County and moved to Kankan with his parents in 2015. Nine (9) years later, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in single subject in 2024, which for him was the result of hard work, sleepless nights and revision. “It makes me very happy and I thank God. It is the result of hard work, sleepless nights and revision, this is it. Growing up, I always thought I would be as happy as I am today. I created my story at home because no one has become a winner yet. Thank God, I am fourth this yearth. It makes me proud of myself. The secret is nothing more than revisions and sleepless nights, that’s all,” he said.
For Moussa Sarko, being an imam does not present any problem, he would rather be a doctor who saves lives. Moreover, he affirms that being a French-Arab is not the same as being an imam. “All my life I wanted to be a doctor, I did not want to be an imam. I chose to be a doctor when I was very young. I wanted to save lives. Those who think that being a French-Arab is being an imam, they do not understand. Being an imam is not a must, far from it. I am proud to have taken the French-Arab course because it has helped me improve my life. In the days to come, I will be among those who become ordinary teachers. So, being French-Arab does not make you fall behind…”
Moussa Sacko has sent his personal information to the National Service for External Scholarships (SNABE) and hopes to be one of the scholarship recipients to continue his studies in Morocco.
