Igor Lyapunov, Rostelecom vice president and head of the solar energy group, said in recent days that hacker attacks have affected more than 300 Russian companies, citing data from the TASS news agency.
“Over the past two days, we have seen a significant increase in the complexity of DDoS attacks against the country’s IT infrastructure. In addition, more than 300 companies and organizations we protect have been targeted by large-scale DDoS attacks, including Rostelecom’s resources,” Lyapunov noted.
According to the Vice President, foreign hackers are doing their best to disrupt the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).
Previously, hacker attacks disrupted operations of the Verny supermarket chain across Russia.
The retailer’s website and app for more than a thousand retail outlets were not working and experts believe that if steps are not taken quickly to eliminate the problem, the company’s losses could exceed £1 billion within a week.
Prior to this, experts clarified how hackers compromised the functionality of SDEK.
