The National Police Association and the state’s bargaining committee have signed a new four-year collective bargaining agreement. The agreement was signed at 6 a.m. today at the government mediator’s office building.
Like the collective bargaining agreements signed last night and tonight by BSRB member companies, the agreement includes wage increases similar to those agreed in the general labor market earlier this year, a BSRB press release stated.
Representatives of seven BSRB member unions, in addition to the National Police Association, signed a new collective agreement with the government bargaining committee, which, like the others, will run from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2028. The unions covered by the agreement are Kjölur – Public Service Employees’ Union, Eastern Public Employees’ Union, FOSS (Public Service Union), Húsavíkur Employees’ Association, Kópavog Employees’ Association, Suðurnesja Employees’ Association and Vestmannaeyjabæjar Employees’ Association.
It also said that in the coming days, new collective agreements will be presented to members ahead of a vote. BSRB’s member associations have now concluded collective bargaining agreements covering the majority of the association’s members. It is hoped that more collective agreements will be concluded in the coming days.
