One of the most anticipated new restaurants on the Hudson River has officially opened, with the elegant Faubourg restaurant opening a second location on the Weehawken waterfront.
Jersey Reported Earlier this year, plans for the restaurant were revealed at River House 11, located at 1100 Port Imperial Ave., in a space that was previously porter. Faubourg’s first location opened in 2019 in a former bank building on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair.

Conceived by Daniel Boulud alumni Olivier Muller and Dominique Paulin, Faubourg offers a menu that changes with the seasons and is named after the suburb that formed around Paris. The restaurant is known for its white cheese and bacon flambée, ricotta ravioli and corn with zucchini, broad beans, basil and pecorino.

Other highlights include French classics such as coq au vin and ratatouille, while the dessert menu includes Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée with rhubarb compote or flaming Grand Marnier. The restaurant also offers a full wine, beer and cocktail menu.

Designed by architect and designer Craig Shillito of Cycle Projects, Faubourg’s new 5,000-square-foot Weehawken location consists of four connected spaces: a large bar with dining area, an open kitchen and main dining room, a cocktail lounge and a private dining room.
The space features floor-to-ceiling windows, lots of natural light, and accents of burnt orange and cool wood. Faubourg Weehawken is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., with an extra hour on Friday and Saturday nights until 11 p.m.
The restaurant promises to offer lunch and brunch service once it opens in the coming months. You can follow Faubourg’s Weehawken-specific account on Instagram at @faubourgweehawken.
