Dr. Raúl Nalvarte Tambini, director of the Santa Rosa Hospital, stressed that “a further advance in donor care is that this extraction process already takes place on the same day, reducing the time for a donor to 45 minutes for a voluntary donor and 2 hours and 30 minutes for a replacement donor.” The hospital has entered into agreements with Minsa institutions and private entities to standardize costs and improve processes.
Santa Rosa Hospital’s Type II blood bank offers several benefits, including immediate availability of blood for emergencies and complex surgeries, safety and quality at every stage of the process, and guaranteed inventory of blood components such as platelets and plasma.
Likewise, Dr. Nalvarte Tambini stressed the importance of encouraging daily donations to obtain vital supplies to address various medical conditions.
