Libreville, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The project launched on July 26 aims to offset the impact of industrial activities on the environment and increase resilience to climate change.

Gabon has made new progress in coastal ecosystems. The Ministry of Water and Forests and the ARISE IIP group have launched a project to restore 17 hectares of mangroves in Angonje-Ntom.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Forests explained that the initiative aims to offset the impact of industrial activities on the environment and build resilience to climate change. Mangroves are the real lungs of the Earth, protecting the coasts, regulating the climate and providing shelter for rich biodiversity.

The project, supported by CENAREST and LAGRAC-UOB, will be monitored for 20 years and aims to protect an additional 1,000 hectares. A beautiful example of collaborative sustainable development!
