The Ministry of Agriculture’s permanent secretary revealed that the ministry, together with the Thammanat Promphao Foundation, will immediately help flood victims in four northern provinces. Food production kitchens will be set up and relief packages will be distributed to flood victims, while the Minister of Agriculture has ordered all units to be mobilized to help farmers.

Mr. Prayoon Insakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, revealed that according to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Captain Thammanat Phromphao went to follow up and solve the problems in the 4 northern provinces affected by the floods, namely Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan. He was assigned to take care of citizens and pets. The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, together with the Thammanat Phromphao Foundation, set up kitchens to produce food and distribute relief bags to flood victims to alleviate their suffering. The operation has started in the 4 provinces today and the government agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives have been ordered to urgently mobilize resources to help the people and farmers in these areas.

Initial findings show that a total of 27,515 rai of agricultural land was damaged and a total of 2,407 livestock were affected (information as of August 22, 2024). Staff from various agencies in the region were deployed to provide emergency assistance and provide advice and care to farmers affected by the floods in the area. The Royal Irrigation Department prepared 5,382 machines and installed 427 water pumps.

The Livestock Development Department distributed 492 animal health medicines and 48 tons of animal feed. In addition, the Farmers Market Organization (FTK) prepared rice and was ready to help the people affected by this incident.
