The Vice President of Communications, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez, has responded to the criticism that the national government has received following the voluntary withdrawal by President Nicolás Maduro from the WhatsApp messaging application, a platform that spreads hatred against leaders of society and the country’s police and military families.
The head of the communications portfolio published an article from the media La Vanguardia on his social network accounts.
“It will not hurt some people who are outraged to read this article about the sovereign decision of the President to uninstall the WhatsApp app from his phone. Vanguard”, he wrote in the link.
In a Spanish media publication, former French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne ordered members of the government to uninstall major communication apps, including WhatsApp, by December 8 last year because she believed they were not secure enough.
In this sense, he calls for their replacement by Tchap or Olvit, two applications developed in France: “To counteract the threats posed by the use of these applications, the French company Olvit has developed an instant messaging service that guarantees the protection of its users’ data.”.
In addition, TikTok cannot be installed on the phones of French officials, including members of its government. The French executive ordered its officials to uninstall the Chinese application on their terminals, justifying this decision in the name of personal information security.
