Oranjestad: Recently, the Minister of Education and Sports, Endy Cross, met with Oranjestad’s Mr. Kevin James, the President of the Aruba Amateur Baseball Association (ABBA), the organization that governs the Aruba Baseball Federation. During this meeting, James presented the progress of a local tournament that will be held in Aruba this November and requested some additional help from the Aruban government for this purpose. Also, Mr. James presented his vision for the future involving a project with an international company that has requested support from the Aruban government for the project. The Minister of Sports stated that he will definitely expand on this in the coming months. Additionally, Mr. James stated that he hopes to first have the Proline League for the sport of softball, as well as the Proline Baseball League in Aruba in November. The Ministry of Sports also hopes to achieve the same type of Proline for volleyball and basketball. With an international sponsor sponsoring the uniforms for the Proline Baseball League for two (2) consecutive years, Mr. James hopes to expand this project to more sports in Aruba. Finally, Minister Endy Cross expressed that he will remain in close contact with Mr. James and the Aruban government to be sure to support and guide this great sporting project.
