“They discussed the priorities of the NATO alliance and the importance of preserving democracy and peace. The meeting promoted the economic opportunities and potential offered by the country, as well as the decisive battle against corruption and crime, which is also a key commitment of the new government.”

Prime Minister Mykoski also held a working meeting with IRI President Tamara Kofman-Witts to discuss the country’s democratic process.

“One of the most serious problems is corruption, and as a new government we are stepping up efforts to eradicate it, which means holding lawbreakers accountable. We cannot fail the expectations of our citizens, and we must work to create mechanisms that protect their interests. The era of lies, incompetence and inaction has ended. The era of reforms, investments, digital transformation has begun. We must set a good example for everyone, find ways to improve living standards and build a safe country that belongs to all citizens,” Mikowski stressed at the meeting.

He also met with former U.S. Ambassador to the country, Philip Ricker, to discuss the challenges facing the country and the support needed to achieve its strategic interests.

Mikowski also discussed the potential for economic and political cooperation in the region.

Mikoski noted that “we must change reality and improve the lives of citizens,” the statement added.
