– There was a person inside the microplane. He is out and being cared for by the local health system, said Trond Hangaas, operations manager for Trøndelag police.
Police would not reveal the pilot’s condition but called it a serious accident.
The pilot will be transported to St. Olaf as soon as possible.
– The Operations Manager stated that at 11:14 we received a message from AMK stating that a microplane had made an emergency landing.
Forensic technicians are on their way to the scene. The Norwegian Air Accident Investigation Board has also been notified and will launch an investigation, police’s Angas said.
Standing on the Fire
The microplane crashed near Oppdal Airport.
The plane caught fire after the emergency landing and there was a risk of it spreading.
– The aircraft is located between E6 and an old barn building. E6 is closed in both directions due to its close proximity to the road. We are working to prevent the fire from spreading to the building.
This is what Stig Lunde, director of the 110 Centre in Central Norway, says.
Just after 12 o’clock, the police informed that the fire in the plane and the barn had been put out.

Two wheels in the air
Lars Hevle, owner of a nearby farm, was on board the E6 when he spotted the tiny aircraft.
– I saw a small plane or microplane do two turns in the air – I think trying to land. It broke on the second turn.
– When we got there, we realized there was a pilot inside the plane. But it was burning so fiercely that he was almost out, so we had to pull him out of the plane,” Hoefler said.
The road is closed
The E6 motorway was closed and the Swedish Road Administration said it would take some time for the road to reopen.
– After an accident, the track must be made safe.
At 12.43, the road service department notified that the road was open.
