Miami-Dade voters to receive mail-in ballots this week for August primary

Miami-Dade County Elections will begin mailing approximately 215,000 mail-in ballots on Thursday, July 11, to voters who have applied for the August 20 primary election. Overseas voters have already received their mail-in ballots. Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Christina encouraged voters to keep an eye on their ballots in the coming days.

Voters who have not yet requested a mail-in ballot must do so by 5 p.m. on August 8. There are several ways to request a mail-in ballot:

Reminder to voters:

  • Under a change in Florida law, all mail-in ballot requests will expire on December 31, 2022. Voters must resubmit their requests for the 2024 election cycle. It takes less than three minutes to request a ballot online.
  • Make sure your ballot is received by the Election Department by 7 p.m. on Election Day (August 20)
  • Sign inside the white box on the back of the return envelope
  • Make sure the signature on your mail-in ballot envelope matches the signature on file
  • Return your ballot by mail or drop it off at any 23 Early Voting Locations
  • No stamp is required when you return your mail-in voting ballot to the election department.
