Melco Crown Entertainment announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter of 2024 yesterday.

Melco Crown Entertainment said total operating revenue for the second quarter was US$1.16 billion, up about 22% from US$947.9 million in the same period last year. Melco Crown Entertainment attributed the increase to improved performance in its mass market and non-gaming businesses, which benefited from the continued recovery of Macau’s tourism industry.

Operating income for the second quarter of 2024 was $123.7 million, compared to $64.3 million in the same period last year.

“We continue to execute on our strategic initiatives to expand revenue and profitability and drive growth in the second quarter of 2024,” said Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho. “Our gross gaming revenue (GGR) is growing quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year, and our team is focused on driving the continued expansion of our market position,” he added.
