Melania Trump called the man who shot and killed her husband Donald at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania a “monster.”
“A monster (…) tried to extinguish Donald’s passion, his laugh, his intelligence, his love of music and his energy,” the former first lady said in a statement posted on her X-platform account.
The 78-year-old former president suffered a minor ear injury in the shooting, which left one person dead and two injured.
“When I saw that bullet violently strike my husband, Donald, I knew my life and the life of Barron (and their son) were on the brink of devastating change,” continued Melania, who married Trump in 2005.
“Let us remember that different opinions, policies and political games are not as important as love. Let us unite, now!” he concluded.
