MedLife, the largest private healthcare network in Romania, announces the signing of an agreement for the complete acquisition of the Antares Clinic Group of clinics, one of the most important private healthcare providers in Moldova. With this new acquisition, MedLife will cover 18 clinics and laboratories, becoming the largest diagnostic network in Moldova. “MedLife, the largest private healthcare network in Romania, announces the signing of an agreement for the complete acquisition of the Antares Clinic Group of clinics, one of the most important private healthcare providers in Moldova. Antares Clinic has been active in the private healthcare market since 2006, offering its patients a wide range of examinations, from multidisciplinary consultations and laboratory services in more than 25 medical specialties, to complex imaging examinations”, the group announced in a statement sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). The group consists of 3 large outpatient clinics in the cities of Piatra Neamt, BotoĹźani and OneĹźti, all equipped with high-performance imaging equipment, as well as 2 laboratories in Piatra Neamt and BotoĹźani. According to company representatives, in 2023 the division’s turnover will be RON 18.3 million.

“With this acquisition, we are consolidating our position in Moldova, which is a strategic area of interest for us. We started contributing to the development of this market since 2014, when we opened a large clinic in the city of Iasi. Later, we completed outpatient services, laboratory and day hospitalization services, providing integrated medical services for subscribers and fee-paying patients. With this transaction, we will expand the diagnostic facilities we offer to patients in the northeast of the country and beyond. We have the largest network of medical institutions in the country, which already covers all cities with a population of more than 150,000. We are proud to reaffirm to our investors and shareholders in this way that we have fulfilled our promise to become an alternative private health system for diagnostics and treatment with a national medical infrastructure. We will continue to consolidate our position and hope to announce other acquisitions before the end of this year,” said Mihai Marcu, President and CEO of MedLife Grup. Currently, MedLife is the operator with the largest acquisition portfolio on the Romanian medical market, and at the same time has the greatest expertise in integrating entrepreneurial businesses developed by Romanian doctors and expanding them on a regional or even national basis. In March, the company announced an additional 50 million euros in syndicated loans, bringing the total amount to 268.3 million euros. The additional funds will be mainly used for procurement.
“We have been active in this market for almost 20 years and have continuously tried to expand our investigations and provide quality services to our patients. For us, the partnership with MedLife represents an important stage in the company’s development. We are pleased to join a market-leading team, thereby aligning ourselves with high quality standards and benefiting from its medical and managerial experience and knowledge. In addition, despite the signing of an agreement for the full acquisition of the company, the management is retained. I am honored to remain in the team and contribute to the further development of this business within the MedLife Group. We have ambitious plans for expansion in nearby cities”, says Dr. Dorel Cosma, attending physician in the Department of Medical Imaging Radiology and founder of Antares Clinic. The MedLife Group had an estimated turnover of 453 million euros last year, an increase of 25% compared to 2022. The shares issued by MedLife SA are admitted to trading on the regulated spot market (premium category) managed by the Bucharest Stock Exchange with the trading symbol “M”.
