Traditionally, the medal table is sorted by the number of gold medals won by each team. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, China led the Paralympic Games with 96 gold medals, Great Britain was second with 41, and the United States was third with 37. If any country tied in the medal table, bronze and silver medals were counted.

The British Paralympic Association is hoping to achieve similar results in Paris as the postponed Tokyo Olympics, where British athletes won 124 medals and UK Sport has set a target of 100 to 140 medals.

Britain has never fallen out of the top five in the medal table since the first Paralympic Games in Rome in 1960, and has been in the top three since Sydney in 2000.

Here is the medal table for the top ten countries – it will be updated at the end of each day.
