MCP moves to fill remaining NEC positions: Mumba to serve as NEC member – Malawi Nyasa Times

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has filled the remaining positions on its National Executive Committee (NEC).

The party has appointed deputies to various posts but also rank-and-file members of the committee.

The party has released the list of 52 appointed members.

The appointees include Water and Sanitation Minister Abida Mia, who was named the party’s second vice-president.

Her appointment means the party now has two female vice chairpersons.Uladi Mussa, former vice chairperson of the Central Region of the Democratic Progressive Party, has entered the MCP NEC as the second deputy chairperson for campaigns.

Former PDP member Ken Msonda has also been inducted into the party’s National Election Committee in Maharashtra as second deputy publicity secretary.

Attorney General Titus Mvalo has been appointed as Deputy Director of Legal Affairs. Mvalo previously served as Director of Legal Affairs but lost at the congress to the current Director of Legal Affairs, George Kadzipatike.

Former MCP vice-chairman Harry Mkandawire, former MCP strategist Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma and Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba were appointed as ordinary members of the NEC.
