Australian Dollar Jemima Muntagg won the bronze medal Women’s 20 km race walk.

She fought hard in the last five kilometers to finish third and ran off the track to catch up with the winner Yang Jiayu From China, Silver Medalist Maria Perez.

It’s one of the bravest performances you’ll ever see.

Jemima Montag looked exhausted at the 15km mark, falling fifth behind her pursuers and seemingly lost her way.
But she knew her race. She knew she needed to sprint hard, so she accelerated almost on time at the 15-kilometer mark.

In the final five kilometers, she pulled away from the other pursuers, caught up to third place, and reduced the gap to the silver medal to just six seconds.

She was nearly 20 seconds faster than gold medalist Jiang Yang, but Jiang won the title in 1.25.54, 25 seconds faster than Spain’s Perez, while Montag finished six seconds behind, taking bronze in 1.26.25.
