Martin Lars (Ferei Quick-Panda Podium Mongolia) won the first stage of the Trans-Himalayan Tour (UCI 2.2) in China and finished third in stage 3. In the overall ranking, the Estonian finished fifth.
The first stage of the cycling race was 129.76 kilometers long. Lars surpassed Colombian sprinter Luis Carlos Cha (Tan Sheng-SCOM.-Tashian Sports Cycling Team) and New Zealander Aaron Gate (Burgos-BH) in the group stage to win the group stage. According to ejl.ee, Lars’ Estonian teammates Mihkel Räim and Nisu Oskar finished 14th and 19th respectively.
Peter Rikunov (Chengdu Cycling Team) took the best time in the second stage (90.34 km), leaving New Zealander Men and George Jackson (both Burgos-BH) behind. Räim finished 61st, Laas 78th and Nisu 80th.
Chia won the final stage of 129.76 km (1:43.09), followed by German Lucas Carstensen (Roojai Insurance) and Laas. Nisu also won the main group, finishing 31st, and Räim 89th.
Gate won first place in the overall score. Rikonov (+0.04) and Chia (+0.26) also made the podium. Laas (+0.35) was fifth, Räim (+1.16) 18th and Nisu (+1.17) 20th. Laas was fourth among the sprinters with 31 points. Chia took the highest score with 52 points.
