It is unacceptable that in a competition of this magnitude, promoting values such as respect, understanding and excellence, a child who had honestly earned a medal was cruelly deprived of the fruits of her four years of work! I could not look at her tears and calmly accept that something like this is completely normal!
The fact that hundreds of millions of viewers from around the world, like us in Romania, were shocked by this horrific scene suggests that something is wrong somewhere in the system of organizing this tournament.
I remember well how the Russians took the Olympics away from us under communism and we would try to argue with them but didn’t have much chance of winning. Today I don’t want to argue with anyone but I just choose to use my gesture to protest against the blatant injustice done to some Romanian women who are trying their best. value!
