He explained that there is no type of organization or prior notification of when fuel is available and when it is not, so they have to go to the terminals in La Libertad (Santa Elena) and Pasquales (Guayaquil) to pick up the product.
Meanwhile, Farfan mentioned that as a gas station, they are “completely overwhelmed by so many fees” and now on top of that, they also have to subsidize transportation to those “remote” provinces, where they have to pay an additional fee of up to 7 cents per gallon.
In this sense, the leader reports that through the sit-in, they managed to meet with the Governor of Manabi, Ronald Lizandro. They hope that you will take care of them and help them to have a timely response and solution. They are still waiting for the date of the meeting.
Farfan assured that Manabi gas stations have been experiencing partial shortages for two months: “There are days they give us and days they don’t, they give us fuel based on a table where they give fuel by market share and they don’t give us any clarity.”
Although EP Petroecuador reported that on July 15, the shipments of ecopaís and super gasoline had resumed. Likewise, on July 11, it had replenished the supply of premium diesel and said that diesel No. 2 supplies continued to be sent to the La Libertad, Santo Domingo and Pasquales terminals.
