“I am so sad and heartbroken to hear about the passing of Mama Lily. My Mama Ninan always believed in me and comforted me whenever I doubted myself,” Poe wrote in a Facebook post.
“She helped so many people and we will never forget her. She was and will always be a giant in Philippine cinema. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to her family and loved ones,” she added.
Monteverde reportedly died on July 29 last year, nearly a week after the death of her husband, Leonardo “Father Remy” Monteverde.
During her career, Monteverde has produced more than 300 films, such as the “Mano Po” anthology, “Scorpio Nights,” “Blue Moon,” the “Shake, Rattle, & Roll” series and “My Monster Mom.”
