Mali’s Central Anti-Drug Office (OCS) announced on Tuesday that it had seized 12 kilograms of pure cocaine with an estimated market value of 480 million CFA francs (about $800,000) at Bamako International Airport.
The drugs were seized from two French-Malian nationals travelling to Paris, France, via Brussels, Belgium, hidden in four double-bottom suitcases, as also noted in the press release.
“The purity of the product analysed by our narcotics laboratory was 98.47 per cent. This means it is pure cocaine,” she said, adding that “investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects involved in this international drug trafficking”.
