
In the second quarter of 2024, the average rental price per square meter of usable area of residential units in Macau was MOP135. According to the data The data comes from Macau’s Statistics and Census Bureau, known by its Portuguese acronym DSEC, which showed retail sales in the city grew 1.7 percent in the first quarter from the previous quarter.
The average rent of residential units in Coloane was MOP147, in Areia Preta it was MOP160, and in the Outer Harbour and Nam Van it was MOP138, up 5.5%, 4.6% and 2% respectively.
The average rent of units in Macau’s central area and Barcelona area fell by 0.4% and 0.2% respectively to MOP117 and MOP120.

Based on statistics of usable area, the average rent per square meter of residential units with an area of less than 50 square meters and between 50 and 99.9 square meters was MOP166 and MOP134 respectively, up by 1.7% and 1.9% quarter-on-quarter respectively.
For non-residential units, the average rent of shops per square meter of usable area in the second quarter was MOP 497, up 0.6% quarter-to-quarter; the average rent of industrial units per square meter of usable area was MOP 124, up 0.4% quarter-to-quarter; while the average rent of office units fell 0.8% to MOP 297.
Compared with the second quarter of 2023, the average rent of residential units in Macau increased by 3.8%. The average rent of shops and industrial units increased by 1.6% and 1.5% respectively, while the average rent of office units decreased by 2.1%.
