The launch of new routes to South Africa by Air Botswana is expected to be a major boost to tourism, especially for airlines operating in regions such as Namibia.

With the launch of new routes from Kasane to Cape Town, Maun to Cape Town, Kasane to Keelung International Airport (Kruger) and Kasane to Windhoek, the airline is poised to enhance connectivity and offer more travel options to its passengers.

According to Travel News, the airline will be adding three new 50-seater Embraer jets to its fleet. As a result, passengers can expect an increase and restoration of the route network. The move is aimed at connecting Botswana with more destinations in neighboring countries.

Air Botswana also announced the resumption of routes that had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including flights from Kasane to Johannesburg, from Maun to Johannesburg, and from Francistown to Johannesburg.

While the flights are expected to be operational soon, no schedule has been announced yet.

Air Botswana sales and marketing manager Mogolo Mokgosi said the airline’s new fares were aimed at stimulating demand, increasing sales and providing affordable air travel, especially in new markets.
