As of the end of the second quarter of 2024, the total number of full-time employees in Macau’s gaming industry was 52,518, an increase of 825 from the same period last year, an increase of 1.6%. This is according to the latest data from the Macau Gaming Authority Statistics and Census Bureau （Statistics and Census Bureau）.
The total number of dealers was 23,467, a decrease of 0.9%.
In June, the average earnings of full-time employees in the gaming industry (excluding non-recurring remuneration) were MOP26,750, up 8.2% year-on-year. The average earnings of dealers were MOP21,660, up 6.5%.

At the same time, benefiting from the continued recovery of Macau’s tourism industry, the number of job vacancies in the gaming industry increased by 385 year-on-year to 498 at the end of the second quarter, an increase of more than 340% over the same period last year.
In the second quarter, the industry hired 1,492 new employees and resigned 1,143 employees respectively. The employee employment rate increased by one percentage point to 2.9%, while the employee turnover rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 2.2%, reflecting the increase in human resource demand.
