In southeastern Nepal, the Kosi River, which causes deadly floods in eastern India’s Bihar state almost every year, has reached dangerous levels, he said.
Spokesman Karki added that residents along the Kosi river had been warned of possible flooding, as well as rising water levels in the Narayani, Rapti and Mahakali rivers in the western part of the country.

Near Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, several rivers overflowed, submerging roads and numerous residential buildings.
