La Paz, Chattanooga to offer free classes for Latino entrepreneurs

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Local 3 News) – The nonprofit La Paz Chattanooga will offer a free 12-week course for Latino entrepreneurs.

Course topics include brand building, strategy, finance, employee development, licensing, accounting, staffing, and more.

Marco Pérez, partner at Prospera Strategies, will teach the classes, which will begin on Thursday, August 22.

“For communities to thrive, all residents must have access to resources that allow them to achieve their personal and professional goals,” Perez said.

Hamilton County, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TDECD) and its Digital Skills, Education and Workforce Development (DSEW) program are funding the course, which is free to participants

“I have spent much of my career helping small business owners overcome the barriers inherent to starting a business, and I am excited to extend those efforts to Latinos in the region through my partnership with La Paz,” Perez said.
