Kuwait City, July 25: The Kuwait Volleyball Association announced that the new season 2024-2025 will start on September 15day It will end in early June 2025. The association requires participating clubs to submit lists of players of all age groups and confirm their participation in local competitions in an official letter.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the National Youth Volleyball Team departed from Istanbul, Turkey today for Manama, Bahrain to participate in the 15th Asian U-18 Volleyball Championship scheduled for July 26 to August 5.
The delegation was led by Nayef Al-Failakawi, a member of the Volleyball Association’s board of directors, and included Abdullah Al-Rayes Adria, national team coach Khaled Al-Mutairi, assistant coach Meshal Al-Sabti, Egyptian physiotherapist Ahmed Fouad and 12 players: Walid Al-Shammari, Ahmed Al-Sarhid, Salem Al-Shammari, Saad Al-Failakawi, Abdullah Al-Ali, Nasser Al-Sanea, Bandar Al-Ahmad, Salem Khadada, Mishari Al-Mutouteh, Muhammad Al-Dukhi, Fahad Alyada and Mishari Ansari.
During the training camp in Turkey, the team played four trial matches, two against Turkish Youth League champions IBB and two against Gimza U-20.
It is also reported that the National Youth Volleyball Team suffered three consecutive defeats in the third group of the 22nd Asian U20 Youth Volleyball Championship preliminaries. The event is currently being held in Surabaya, Indonesia, and the competition will last until July 30.
The team lost to Bangladesh 0-3 (Round 11-25, 15-25, 15-25). Prior to that, the team lost to Japan and India, ranking fourth and last in the group.
