This weekend, a football tournament was held in Sauðárkrók and the town was full of young football players. According to Feykis, there were 520 participants in the tournament and a total of 87 teams signed up to compete.
Þrastar Magnússon, chairman of the children and youth section at Tindastur Football, said the match went off without a hitch. “The weather was great compared to other matches this summer and I think everyone was happy and satisfied with the match,” Thåstur said rather bluntly.
Even though Króksmóti has a history dating back to the last century, it seems that new teams still come to Krókinn to play. For example, a team from ÍBV from Vestmannaeyjar was there this weekend – at least no one remembers that it happened before, but it would be right not to say anything.
