Koenig Building: A Bangladeshi worker attacked

Last weekend, an employee at a factory in Latour-Koenig was attacked. However, it was not until Monday that she filed a complaint with the Plaine-Verte police station, recounting the details of the traumatic incident. Union member Faizal Ali Bigon called on the authorities to make foreign workers and tourists aware of the risks they may face in certain areas of the island. The facts date back to last Friday between 11 am and noon. A 38-year-old Bangladeshi woman was attacked by two people on the rue de Corps de Garde in Plaine-Verte. The latter stole her personal belongings, including her passport and 6,000 rupees. She was returning from a private consultation with a doctor in the area. In her statement, the victim claimed that she could recognize her attackers. The police launched an investigation. For union member Faizal Ali Bigon, these acts of violence against foreigners raise questions about the country’s security. “This case is not isolated. A few months ago, another employee was attacked in Redland, but the attacker was eventually arrested.”he declared.
