Joe Bryant’s father NBA Hall of Fame, Kobe Bryantalready dead.

Four and a half years before Kobe’s death, his 41-year-old son Kobe and 13-year-old granddaughter Jaina On January 26, 2020, he died along with seven others in a tragic helicopter crash. Calabasas, California.

Kobe, nicknamed “Gummy” for his sweet tooth, was selected in the first round of the 1975 draft by the Golden State Warriors. He then returned to his hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to play for the 76ers.
In 1975, he married Pam Cox, and in 1978 they had a son, Kobe.
Bryant played four seasons with the 76ers, then three seasons with the San Diego Clippers before joining the Houston Rockets.
In 1983, Kobe played in Italy and France and retired in 1992.

Bryant later began his coaching career with the Los Angeles Sparks from 2005 to 2007.
While Bryant and his son Kobe were close in high school, their relationship became strained once Bryant joined the Los Angeles Lakers and began his Hall of Fame NBA career.
Joe Bryant has yet to comment publicly on his son’s death.
