The KNSB does not accept the intentions of the EPP to cut back on significant improvements in working and living conditions for workers in the EU, including in Bulgaria. The EPP delegates, with Bulgaria’s participation, proposed changes to the texts in question, seeking to remove them from the report, which is expected to remove uncertainty and increase guarantees for the rights of European civil society. The KNSB explained that the EPP delegates voted separately on the report (so that these texts could be changed).
The European Parliament will vote on the report on January 19. The National Security Council called on Bulgarian representatives in the European Parliament not to support destructive amendments and split votes proposed by the European People’s Party.
“They must know that Europe and Bulgarian citizens expect them not to oppose the pillars of European social rights. The report was stripped of its essential elements. This will mean that unregulated, exploitative forms of work will also continue to develop across Europe, and everyone’s wages and social rights will continue to be under pressure.
