This was a successful raid by the Kissidougou Territorial Gendarmerie. She managed to get hold of a large amount of Indian hashish, hidden in suitcases that were transported from Sierra Leone to Siguiri. The seizure took place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in a car in the Kankan district. According to Guineematin.com correspondents based in the district, the driver and the suspected owner of the contraband goods have been arrested for investigation purposes.
Mohamed Bama Camara, the prosecutor at the Kissidougou Court of First Instance, provided details of the seizure of the banned substance when questioned on the issue.

“The Kissidougou territorial gendarmerie company seized a large amount of Indian cannabis. The drug was purchased by Mr. N’Faly Diawara and was supposed to be transported to Siguiri where the product was sold. But the territorial gendarmerie company received information from the Yande station in Kissidougou. A well-meaning citizen passed this information to the police. As a result, the vehicle was tracked, they were arrested in Tokuno and the vehicle and its contents were brought back to the Kissidougou territorial gendarmerie company,” said the prosecutor.
Furthermore, Mohamed Bama Camara indicated that the suspects were questioned, charged and placed in preventive detention. “The drivers, Madjou Sangaré and N’Faly Diawara, were questioned and detained. The process has been handed over to my prosecutor’s office and the two suspects are currently being held at the Kissidougou Civil and Correctional Prison. In the coming days, the trial will take place. We ask citizens to do this and we will not reveal their identities. Regardless of the efficiency of the judicial police on the ground, their actions on the ground can sometimes be slow if the population does not cooperate,” the prosecutor declared.
