Kingdom becomes guest country of Beijing Books 2024

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is preparing to launch its pavilion at the 2024 Beijing International Book Fair as the Guest of Honor Country of this year’s edition. The event will be held in the Chinese capital of Beijing from June 19 to 23, and the Kingdom’s participation is supervised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Bureau and a number of cultural and state entities. In order to showcase Saudi culture to the Chinese public, strengthen BroadCast Unitedlectual exchanges between the two countries and enrich joint cooperation in the fields of literature and art, the Kingdom’s Pavilion includes contributions from various departments, including: (Heritage Authority, Culinary Arts Authority, Film Authority, Ministry of Investment and King Abdulaziz Palace, King Salman International Academy of the Arabic Language, King Abdulaziz Public Library, King Fahd National Library and Saudi Publishing Association).

This diversity aims to showcase Saudi culture in its entirety, including Saudi BroadCast Unitedlectual production, highlighting national talent, in addition to promoting investment opportunities in the Kingdom, particularly in the cultural sector, where participation includes presenting a diverse cultural program consisting of seminars and dialogues discussing Saudi culture and its various links with Chinese culture.

Other events will be held during the fair: a Saudi dinner, special presentations of books, manuscripts and artifacts, live performances of traditional performing arts, fashion shows and art paintings, screenings of Saudi films, and a special area for the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Award for Cultural Cooperation between the Kingdom and China, in addition to a dedicated corner for partners of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, as well as different centers and associations.

Considered one of the most important international cultural exhibitions, the Beijing International Book Fair is attended by more than 2,600 exhibitors from 100 countries each year, providing a unique opportunity to network with publishers, promote the book and publishing industry, and highlight Saudi cultural achievements on the international stage.
