The Kelibia International Amateur Film Festival paid tribute to the management of the Jerusalem International Film Festival in its sixtieth edition for organizing an exceptional conference in the context of the genocidal war in Gaza, held on the roof of a destroyed house, and the 37th edition opened at the Al-Zein Al-Safi Theater in Kelibia in a tent in the city of Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Mr. Adel Obeid, President of the International Amateur Film Festival, said in his opening speech: Palestine As part of its efforts to support the Palestinian cause, the official flash of the Kalibia Film Festival is dedicated to amateur filmmakers to record the festival. During a special session under the motto “Innovators despite shelter”, she followed the audience to hear the festival’s president, Dr. Izzedine Shala, who was unable to attend due to the war, in the content send greetings to the festival and its directors, hoping that the next festival will be held during the Palestinian independence.

I then summarized the difficulties that hampered the organization of the festival, including the bombing of the hall designated for the exhibition and the building where the technical tools for restoring the exhibition were located, but it was organized in a refugee camp.

Afterwards, attendees watched a video showcasing the festival experience in the tent, which was opened by a speech by the director of the Jerusalem festival, in which he noted that Palestinians’ commitment to their culture is a manifestation of their fight against death with life.

In a speech during the opening night, Habib Trabelsi, a journalist and member of the Tunisian Amateur Cinematographers Union, praised the efforts of the sons and daughters of the universities and their affiliated film clubs, without whose presence the festival would not have been possible for 60 years. He praised the efforts of the members of the Kelibia Film Club over the years, despite the fact that they have no headquarters, but they are passionate about organizing the festival and have made an effective contribution.

The opening event began with a tribute to the spirit of the late artist Yasser Jaradi, who was honored to place his guitar on the stage, and a short video was played behind the stage, documenting his experience throughout the tour. The video was accompanied by a collection of Yasser’s songs, similar to “Dima Dima”, “Shabiki Nesitini” and “We Heard Him Sing”. His niece also spoke at the event, in which she mentioned that this festival was the starting point for Grady to enter the world of art.

The opening event concluded with a screening of Italian director Piaro Osperti’s documentary “A Journey to Gaza,” which chronicled the details of his visit to Gaza.
