Both men met with people associated with the event before heading to the Royal Box on Centre Court to watch the men’s singles final.

The audience gave Kate a standing ovation as they took their seats in the front row of the royal box, with Princess Charlotte smiling at her mother’s emotional gesture.

The applause expressed their respect and sympathy for Kate’s public appearance during her cancer treatment.

Children are usually prohibited from entering the Royal Box at Centre Court due to high demand for seats in the 74-seat section, but exceptions are made for the royal children.

Just weeks before she played Wimbledon, she attended Trooping the Colour, King Charles’ annual birthday celebration, her first outing since revealing her diagnosis.

Before the tournament, Wimbledon organisers said they hoped members of the royal family would be in attendance and continue the tradition of presenting the trophy this year.
