Kamala Harris attacks Trump at first rally: He is a sexual predator, I have caught all kinds of criminals

Kamala Harris, U.S. Vice President and Trump’s likely opponent in the November election, described Republican candidate Donald Trump as a fraud and sexual predator during a speech at her first campaign rally as a 2024 presidential candidate in Milwaukee.

Harris spoke to a packed high school auditorium in Wisconsin, one of the key swing states. Almost a minute after she took the stage, the crowd greeted her with an enthusiastic atmosphere, cheering and chanting “Kamala.”

“I’m going to spend the next week continuing to unite our party so that we’re ready for victory in November,” Harris told the rally, just two days after President Joe Biden withdrew his reelection bid and endorsed his running mate in the White House.

After praising Biden and thanking Democrats for their trust, Harris attacked Trump and laid out her vision for her presidency.

“I caught all kinds of criminals,” she said of her time as a California prosecutor and state’s attorney.

— Predators who abuse women. Scammers who defraud consumers. Cheaters who break the rules for their own gain. “So please hear me out when I say I know the type of person Donald Trump is,” Harris said.

She promised to fight for the middle class and end poverty, but one of the loudest cheers for her was on the topic of abortion rights.

“We will stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion ban because we believe women will make their own decisions about their bodies, not have the government tell them what to do,” she said to loud cheers from the crowd.

– Harris said, “When Congress passes a law that restores reproductive freedom, as President of the United States, I will sign it into law.”

“In this campaign, I promise you, I will proudly display my accomplishments any day of the week,” the U.S. vice president told a cheering crowd of thousands gathered at West Allis High School in suburban Milwaukee.

“Do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion and the rule of law, or one of chaos, fear and hatred?” she asked.

After Biden dropped out of the White House race on Sunday and endorsed Harris as his successor, Harris leads Trump 44% to 42% among registered voters in the latest Reuters/Ipsos national poll conducted on Monday and Tuesday.
