The new branches will be opened in Darulaman, Qala-i-Zaman Khan and Tangi Tarakhel areas of the capital, Maulvi Abdul Karim Haseeb, director of the department, said at a press conference.
He said the number of passports issued by the department would be increased to 12,000 across the country.
Each new centre will issue passports to 2,000 people per day, he added.
The official explained that the Directorate General of Passports had issued passports to nearly two million people across the country in the past year.
He added that the government earned $12 million from issuing the document during this period and believed the new centre would further facilitate the people.
