Community activist Shaun Asprilla Gariseb has called on Windhoek residents who have questions about their municipal bills to turn up in large numbers to the City Council tomorrow to verify their outstanding debts. According to him, the invitation to this effect was issued by Mayor Queen Kamati on August 8.
Windhoek City spokesperson Lydia Amutenya confirmed that Kamati encouraged residents with questions about their bills to contact the city’s customer service department.
“However, the mayor has not called for a mass verification exercise tomorrow. We strongly oppose mass inquiries as they overwhelm our services and impact our ability to assist effectively,” Amutnia added.
